The fact that children make beautiful music

music makes beautiful children.
The third and fifth grade students are in the process of completing their Minnesota Graduation Standards in the music class. This web site lists the Graduation Standards that are required at the elementary level in music class:
Graduation Standards required by 3rd grade:
*Sing in a group with accurate pitch and rhythm
*Sing a variety of songs from memory
*Play simple rhythms and melodies on classroom instruments
*Improvise simple rhythms and melodies
*Read basic music notation
Graduation Standards required by 5th grade:
*Sing alone with accurate pitch
*Sing part songs with accurate pitch
*Sing a round/canon with accurate pitch
*Perform a rhythmic patterns accurately on an instrument
*Perform a melodic pattern accurately on an instrument
*Improvise with voice or instrument
*Read music notation with accurate rhythm and pitch
