We have so much fun reading in our room everyday!  The boys and girls have been working hard to finish our second reading book.  Soon we will be starting the third book, and we can really tell the difference in our reading since the year started!  Our motto is "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE."

 When we read together in our room we use our reading fingers to track all words we read.  This helps our brain pick up the words and remember them.  When practicing at home, please have kids track with their reading fingers just like we do in our classroom! 

All the boys and girls have Book Boxes which are full of books at their level to read and enjoy.  They also have Whisper Phones in their boxes - ask your child to tell you how they use their phone to hear themselves read!!  Kids also have Star Books in their Book Boxes, which are little stories with controlled vocabulary that matches the vocabulary in our  reading books.  These stories have AR tests on the computer, so kids are really encouraged to read as many as these as possible to build comprehension and fluency.
