In Second Grade we would like the students to read the books by themselves if possible.  I have a good selection of books to choose from or they can check out books at the public library or the school library.  The books can be read at home or at school.  They will get a sticker for every point they earn. For every 10 points, they will get a Subway certificate. This first quarter every student needs to get at least 5 points. The second, third, and fourth quarters the students will set their own goals based on their reading abilities. I will send out reminders about their progress or lack of progress. They should read books at their level. It is important that they are successful in reading.
