SPEECH AND LANGUAGE SERVICES

Jackson County Central High School

Speech and language services are available for high school students.  Students who have speech difficulties such as stuttering or speaking clearly with good articulation may receive services.  We also work on improving students' abilities to understand what they hear or read and to be able to express their ideas orally or in writing.   Students who are nonverbal or have limited oral speech may use an augmentative communication device which helps them to communicate with their friends and teachers.  Students with hearing impairments also receive services to help them expand their vocabulary and overall language skills.  Each student is different.  Therapy for all high school students stresses functional communication skills which are needed in the "real world".

I am at the high school on Monday and Friday mornings.  To reach me, call Pleasantview Elementary(662-6218) and talk with me any afternoon or leave a message for me and I will return your call.
