Wanderings of An Educated Man

    Welcome to the official home of Wide Write!  Why the name change to Wanderings of an Educated Man?  It's simple, really.  Or, so I believe.

    My favorite author, Louis L'Amour, wrote a book about his life called, The Education of a Wandering Man.  In it, he related to his readers how his life experiences made him into the man he was.  During the course of his lifetime, he held many jobs in all the corners of the world.  He drew from these experiences to write his stories.  And, as he did not have a high school education, his wandering was his education.

    I, on the other hand, have not had the experiences or travel log of Louis L'Amour.  However, I have a college education.  I use my education to wander where no man has gone before.  Or, even wants to, for that matter.  When I write, I give my mind a free rein; I let it wander wherever it wants to go.

    In other words, Louis L'Amour and I are exact opposites!  However, I hope that in my own special way, I am as successful in my life as he was in his.
