Here's what you should know about your child's grade report:
In Math: Students will receive homework almost every night in Math. The assignment is usually due the next day at the beginning of class unless I specify otherwise. The points will vary from day to day, depending on how many problems are assigned. All tests will be worth 100 points.
In all classes: The 6th grade core curriculum teachers have decided to make responsibility a part of each student's grade. Your child will receive two points per class per day. If your child has troubles with any of the following behaviors, they could lose points for that day. I will be updating their responsibility grade at the end of each week. A normal week would have 2 pts x 5 days = 10 pts per week for each class, so you will see a total in the responsibility column out of 10 for that week. Please check this weekly so that you are aware of how many times we have to stop our class instruction because of your child's behavior. This will start the second week of school.
RESPONSIBILITY MEANS:
Be in your seat ready to work when the bell rings
Have ALL materials with you
Follow ALL directions
Be on task the entire hour
Have assignment finished on time
