Middle School

DAPE students meet once a week to swim on Monday mornings during first and part of second hour.  We work on bilateral coordination, strength and agility.  Sometime during that hour, the student completes four laps, four dives or jumps and plays a variety of water games.  We are tested quarterly on the different strokes, jumps, dives, touching the bottom, trending water and swimming underwater.  Our goal is improvement in each of the areas if possible.

DAPE  students also meet once a week for 20-30 minutes to work on their individual goals and objectives and work on weak skills shown in regular physical education class plus a strong emphasis on lifetime recreational activities.

In March, Adaptive Bowling begins for grades 7-12 for those that qualify for team and/or individual competition.  We bowl against at least four other teams across the state and conclude with the State Adaptive Bowling Meet in the middle of May.
