The DAPE students usually work with the DAPE instructor in a small group or individually once a week for 20-30 minutes to help the students meet their goals and objectives in regular physical education and their IEP.  Therefore, the student often follow the same curriculum as the regular physical education class, but might start on it a week or two sooner than the regular class.  Also during 1st and 4th quarter, the students swim once a week in a group to work on bilateral coordination, strength and agility.  Then during 2nd and 3rd quarter, the DAPE instructor often works inclusion with the student and his/her regular physical education class once a week for 30 minutes.  The abilities of the student determines the goals and objectives of that student.  The ECSE students in DAPE, often follow the same curriculum as the kindergarten with a strong emphasis on locomotion, ball skills and fitness.
